I hope your Monday was excellent, and the week is going smoothly. It's time once again for our question of the week. For those of you who may not know, I work in educational technology, and I have two children so everything in my world right now feels very focused on "Back to School" activities. That brings us to our weekly question:
Do you have any special Back to School activities? Are there spiritual traditions you incorporate, or specific rituals you do prepare?
Working in education, I tend to find myself a bit overwhelmed and don't put a lot of time or effort into a normal year's "Back to School" activities. My son's first year of school, I created a 1st Day of School with lots of songs to send the child to school with protection and blessings. The one I linked is specifically Hittite, but it could fairly easily be changed to any hearth culture. This year, I plan on doing more. I'm working on a rite now that focuses on keeping my children happy and healthy, and also blessing their school supplies. I figure any precaution we can take is a good thing at this point.
